Event Name: Save Our Planet - Recycle 5K 2022

For those of you that are runners you may be familiar with the fact that race organizers occasionally purchase an overage of race shirts and medals to ensure that everyone participates gets one at the end of an event. When the number of shirts and medals that were ordered exceeds the number of participates the organizer is left with a surplus. One race organizer did an amazing thing to mitigate this issue. 

Victory Sports Management held the Save the Planet – Recycle 5K event which focused on both recycling and for creating a better tomorrow at TY Park in Broward county, Florida. What was unique about this event was that Victory Sport Management recycled their medals and shirts, from past events, to each runner that completed this k course.  They did not want any medals or shirts to go to waste and fill up our landfills. Participants were able to choose one more medals and shirt from past 2020 and 2021.  Because the event did not purchase new medals and shirts for the event they simply recycled past medals and shirts which enabled them to pass the savings onto the participants. This was definitely a win for both runner and race organizer.
