Event Name: Tri KB #1
Location: Key Biscayne, Florida
Rarely as a sports photographer do I get the chance to photograph athletes on such a scenic course. This is one of those opportunities where athletes have the opportunity to run with a gorgeous beach in the background thanks to Integrity Multirace. The event starts with an ocean swim in full view of family, friends and supporters. The bike course is runs against Miami city skyline and the view of Key Biscayne. Cyclists had to climb the highest point in south Florida, with a 700 meter climb on the William Powell Bridge. The International distance athletes will had two changes to perform this test, while the sprint distance went over the bridge once.
The run consisted of a beautiful 5K route through Crandon Park. The sprint athletes completed one lap, while the International distance runners completed two laps. Spectators will had a number of chances to cheer on athletes as they ran down the final finishing chute.
Friends, family & music welcome the athletes through the finish line. The Tri KB Triathlon Series is a multi-faceted event featuring 2 race distances and 3 different races (triathlon, duathlon, and aquabike) with the warm waters of Atlantic Ocean, the Rickenbacker climb on the bike, and a flat run.
